It must have been so much easier to be a "Clinton Hater" back in the day than it is to be a "Bush Hater" now. Seriously, think about it. I know I was much younger and not as politically motivated as I am now, but I can remember fairly well, a good amount of the details from the various scandals. One of the reasons I think it would have been so much easier is that the Clinton scandals were kind of fun and silly. It would have been too easy to feign outrage at something as sinister as adultery (and I say *feign* because so many haters have since proven themselves hypocritical in their own actions). "My God! The Clintons sold land in Arkansas for a loss?! I hate them!" See, easy? The other big thing that would have made life easier for a Clinton hater is that typically the scandals only came to us one at a time. This timing thing in particular would have made things more convenient by allowing a hater to stay focused and dig deep into the scandal du jour. For Bush haters, especially of late, not so much the case.
That is where I find myself this morning, unable to pick one from the multitude of scandals. And that is why I am having such difficulty focusing on today's blog. The scandals just seem to be flying at us haters from every direction right now with a quickening tempo. It is like someone opened a secret Pandora's Box of Bush hating. And, again, unlike the Clinton scandals that came in a 'one dose, easy to swallow (no pun intended)' pill format with little side effects to the nation, these Bush scandals are drastically different. I wish that these scandals were coming in one at a time in order give them each the attention they deserve and to parse through the minutia of details. Instead of the 'gut reaction' scandals the Clinton haters got: Adultery = Bad = I hate him, we Bush haters have to deal with: The outing of a covert CIA operative to politically smear the operative's spouse in order to downplay the fake evidence used to sell the American people on an unjust war with a country that is posing no imminent threat = Bad = Wait, what were we talking about again? Do you see the difference? Subtle, I know, maybe you should look again. And the pace of these complex scandals is dizzying. Here, try this one out for size: The firing of selective US attorneys for partisan reasons to either stop investigations into Repubican members of Congress, or to investigate more vigorously Democratic members of Congress = Bad = Can you believe Sanjaya is STILL on American Idol?! See, even I can't stay focused anymore!
I know we owe a lot of the current pace of Bush scandaldom to the fact that the Democrats are finally now in a position to force Congress to do one of it's important jobs, oversight. I am by no means complaining that the facts are finally coming to light after 6 years of darkness, I just need to catch my breath for a minute! *In through the nose* *Out through the mouth* There, a little better. I promise to do better tomorrow and pick one of these thick, juicy scandals to sink my teeth into. Mmm, tasty!
Thanks for reading...

Mar 29, 2007, 3:17:00 PMThis is hilarious and so true. I am just glad to see that the American people and the "media" are FINALLY focusing on these things. I have a feeling this is not even the beginning. I want to know what will happen to Bush and his buddies. IF you can get impeached for a blow job then the punishment should be far worse for what he has done. I think all of the deaths of the soldiers killed should be on him. He should be hung like Saddam because really there is no difference. And no, I can't believe Sanjaya is still on AI. After he butchered my idol's (gwen stefani) song I thought he should have been burned at the stake. WOW! I am violent today!
