Yes! There is some measure of justice in the world! I am sure most all of you have heard by now that I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby was found guilty yesterday on 4 of the 5 counts he was charged with in regards to the Valerie Plame affair (no silly, not THAT kind of affair!).

Am I gloating a little over this? Yes. Am I happy about this? Well, yes and no. I am happy that some measure of justice was served in what I and many others deemed a treasonous act against the best interests of our country. I am saddened, however, on two counts. First, they only got the 'little fish' here, the fall guy so to speak. Libby was not the only one going around disclosing classified information of a damaging nature (for reasons of the petty politics of personal destruction) to whatever journalists was unethical enough to print it. And my guess would be he was also not the only individual who hatched this devious plot and gave it the green light. That is the first reason I am saddened. The second reason is this; those in the current administration who would do such a thing towards such a nefarious end are doing nothing more than soiling the already soiled image of the highest office in our land.

I can only hope, we can only hope, that this does not end here with Libby. Let's hope for more resignations, more investigations, and more convictions of those who have done so many awful deeds these past 6 years. Let's hope for this, not only to punish those who deserve punishment, but also to make it clear to any future administrations that they are not above the law and that we are not ok with this type of behavior. These are not just my silly feelings of partisan retribution at work here, they are my hopes and desires that we can work our way back to a government 'of the people, by the people, and for the people'.

Thanks for reading...
